I started creating art from a very early age. Growing up, I was fascinated by the illustrations in my favorite Marvel comics, Godzilla graphic novels, and the artwork on my trading cards. I'm still fascinated by all of these artworks, and their ability to tell visual stories about places and characters.

I started art lessons after school, and quickly learned that I could create these "pictures" on my own. I learned to measure proportions, render light values, and how to use color in my paintings. Just as importantly, I learned to trust myself in my art-making process, set goals, take care of my work, and how to focus. I'll always be grateful for what art taught me as a kid.

Today, my work still has an "illustrative" characteristic to it. I am very drawn to the interaction of light and color on everyday objects, like a fold in a piece of drapery, or warm light wrapping around kitchen objects in a still-life painting.

While my subject matter varies greatly, I always strive to highlight the interplay of light and color, aiming to reveal the hidden beauty in everyday moments, objects, and scenes.
